Current financial analysis tools fail to show problems in flow as they have little concept of evolution or context. For example, the Map below has an ordinary P&L statement attached, which doesn't help the CFO question why the organisation is custom-building one particular component. But with the Map the CFO can, probably for the first time, start asking questions about technology spend WITHOUT needing to become an expert in the technology (i.e. "just why are we custom-building kettles at great expense here?").
